Brasstown Bald, Georgia

We had the pleasure of hiking Brasstown Bald mountain last week. It is Georgia's highest peak at 4,784 feet and located in Union County in North Georgia. The hike is not without some struggle, it goes up 500 feet in just over a half mile. The entire hike is 1.2 miles up and back, but oh so worth it on a clear day! There are beautiful views from the top and you can see 4 states. But, don't worry if you can't hike up, the $5 entrance fee covers the shuttle bus to the top. You can also get around the entrance fee if you have an America The Beautiful pass.
