Yes, you read that right! Chocolate Soup! I love this soup. While I usually reserve it for Valentines day, I promised my little girl that we would make it for daddy!
Soup Ingredients
4 cups whole milk
1 can evaporated milk
½ cup raw sugar
1 bag Nestle milk chocolate choc chips
1/4 cup Kahlua or other coffee-flavored liqueur, optional
½ tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 TBSP Cinnamon or to taste
2 tsp cumin or to taste
1 tsp chili powder or to taste
Whipped Cream Hearts
Take cream and whip until soft peaks form. Spread out on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in freezer until frozen. Take out of freezer and use heart shaped cookie cutter to make hearts. Put back in freezer and take out when ready to put on top of soup.
How to make soup
Combine whole milk, condensed milk, choc chips, liqueur, and salt in a saucepan
Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat, whisking constantly
Reduce heat to low and cook, whisking often, until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth, 20-25minutes (as the chocolate melts, it may look a little grainy but don't worry-it will smooth out, but whisk it often as it heats)
Whisk vanilla and spices together in a small dish until dissolved
Take the "soup" off the heat and stir in the vanilla/spice mixture
Serve immediately (yes, warm) and top with whipped cream hearts
